Art

With our limited human senses, how can we cultivate the sensibility to engage meaningfully with the complex world around us? The challenge has only deepened as our world fills with machine intelligences and system dynamics alongside humans and other creatures. My artistic practice, seeded by a lifetime of computing, is rooted in precisely this semiotic ecology. Across interactive objects, visual art, and immersive installations, my work proposes new ways of sensing and of making sense.

Interactive Objects

Objects and instruments that respond to presence or embody it on their own. Many pieces employ custom hardware and software to stage moments of encounter between people, machines, and the more-than-human.

Data Visualization

Perceptual instruments for our modern condition, translating information into sensory forms our senses can more directly apprehend.

Atmospherics

These works are research studies into gestalt, seeking through colour, light, immersive environments, or other forces to transmit moods or alter sensory states.

Manifestos and published papers.
