ĒKRI

An ecosystem of sculptural antennas, tuned to invisible forces.

Detail of an ĒKRI

The ĒKRI are a family of hanging sculptural antennas, each assembled from a limited vocabulary of found metal components. The forms are collapsible: their geometry is composed of wire frames, chain and string that are animated by gravity only when suspended from a height. They interact with invisible forces: most notably electromagnetic fields and air currents. It is hypothesized that they respond to other, less well-documented energies as well.

Magnetoreception is the dominant sensory modality across the many species of ĒKRI. A set of magnetized rings, available to visitors, extends the human electromagnetic field into the EKRI's sensory range. When worn, they allow a kind of conversation with the through presence without contact.
